Montgomery County was surveyed and organized in 1869 the governor appointed commissioners June 3. Like the Osages, the Bunkers thought they were beyond the boundaries of civilization. In 1867 Frank and Fred Bunker established a primitive cattle camp on the west side of the Verdigris south of the confluence. This treaty conceded white settlement on land in the eastern part of what is now Montgomery County. The reservation had been established in 1825. When Kansas was admitted to the Union as a state in 1861, the Osage Indian reservation occupied a large tract of land near the southern border. It was named in honor of Richard Montgomery, an American Revolutionary War general killed in 1775 while attempting to capture Quebec City, in Canada, after successfully capturing two forts and the city of Montreal. Montgomery County was established on February 26, 1867. In 1854, the Kansas Territory was organized, then in 1861 Kansas became the 34th U.S. In 1803, most of the land for modern day Kansas was acquired by the United States from France as part of the 828,000 square mile Louisiana Purchase for 2.83 cents per acre. ![]() In 1802, Spain returned most of the land to France, but keeping title to about 7,500 square miles. My friend kept asking how I found the “man” in the first town, and I eventually realized he was referring to the Minuteman logo that marked the subdivision of Sanctuary. The Answer: This is one of those questions that would have never even crossed my mind since I’ve been playing open world RPGs for so long. The Question: “Why can I never find these map icons?” Since then, I’ve heard from many other players that they ran into the same problem. I didn’t understand that I had to move around and place it manually, and that it was already selected and ready to be built. The problem was that the bed I was trying to build was stuck inside the wall behind the workbench, and I couldn’t even see it. The answer turned out to be that even hovering over an object means you’re about to build it, if you have the right qualifications and part. I did, but I didn’t understand how to play it anywhere. It tells you to go to the workshop, and select a bed. One of the first building missions in the game is to build a bed for your Sanctuary settlement. The Answer: This was so confusing that this is a question I actually asked when I first started. The Question: “Why can’t I build this damn bed?” You may already have a ton unlocked you didn’t even realize. That will help you incrementally, but the point of doing that is to unlock the perks underneath. Do NOT focus on maxing the letter value alone. Usually after putting in one point, you will have to wait to level higher before you can do another, but with high numbers in specific letters, you can unlock great perks early. If you are level 10 Strength, for instance, that means you have access to at least the first level in ALL TEN perks under Strength. You have to look not just across, but up and down. I’ve seen players start maxing out specific SPECIAL attribute letters early, or even trying to max out ALL of them, because they don’t understand how the system works. Though I really like the functionality of the skill tree, knowing how to use it can be tough. The Answer: Again, this is poorly explained in the game, and has the potential to derail your entire playthrough if you’re not careful. The Question: “Okay I’ve started maxing out the letters, when do I get perks?” ![]() Tamiya TS-55 Dark Blue Lacquer Spray Paint (100ml) $ 9.

The second theme is filled with hope, a gently rolling, tender melody which quickly becomes unsettled and takes on an unexpected harshness, filled with desperation. The tension between these two faces of the same material motivates the unfurling drama of the movement. ![]() It is reminiscent of the casting out of Eden and the tenebrous trembling following. Its opening measures could hardly be more stern and forbidding, and are immediately answered by tremulous whispered versions of the same motif, reacting with fear and filled with questioning. One of Schubert’s most beloved chamber music works, written when he was 27, the d minor String Quartet is characterized quite strongly by these qualities. In many ways the traveler of the Winterreise, a lonely soul wandering though a barren, icy landscape, is emblematic of much of this composer’s output. But they appear only in the guise of dreams, representing a wounding optimism. For the qualities of splendid hopes, of the happiness of love and friendship, of enthusiasm for the Beautiful which Schubert mentions are far from absent from his work. The most tender passages very often have a quality of distance, of a vision of that most dearly hoped for and yet felt to be ungraspable. Schubert’s celebrated lyricism has at its core the suffering of recognizing that which can not be had. Stony, unforgiving musical elements with no sense of malleability demand to be acknowledged, setting up a drama of the vulnerable individual in the clutches of destiny. In no other composer’s work, with the possible exception of Shostakovich, do we find such stark and shattering juxtaposition of the human and the inhuman. So might I sing every day, since each night when I go to sleep I hope never again to wake, and each morning merely reminds me of the misery of yesterday. ![]() Think of a man whose health will never be right again, and who from despair over the fact makes it worse instead of better, think of a man, I say, whose splendid hopes have come to naught, to whom the happiness of love and friendship offers nothing but acutest pain, whose enthusiasm (at least, the inspiring kind) for the Beautiful threatens to disappear, and ask yourself whether he isn’t a miserable, unfortunate fellow. I feel myself to be the most unfortunate, the most miserable being in the world. Schubert was a poet of unfulfillable longing, of human vulnerability, of the excruciating sweetness of the yearning to be at peace. Better system-system management of spacing styles. There are a few things I begged for in LilyPond from the getgo: At the last minute, I had additional instruments added to the project, and it was the proving grounds for a lot of concepts in LilyPond. One of the first biggest projects I made in LilyPond was back in 2013 when I was asked to arrange a selection of a famous work by Brahms for String Quartet. I started using LilyPond before I started using broadband internet, and so my only source of comfort was downloading the Notation Reference and Learning Manual to aimlessly search for a solution). It is so much like programming, and I've been around enough programmers to know that they are dedicated enough to finding solutions to problems, and lazy enough to avoid learning how to do it from scratch (if the solution exists in someone else's snippet). You must be good at googling and using the lingo found in the Notation Reference. You read the learning manual and recreate all of the examples from scratch (a la "Learn Python the Hard Way").You use it with an editor that autocompletes your code (such as Frescobaldi). What I can say confidently is that LilyPond is only usable when the following three conditions are met: I've used it to publish several academic and scholarly projects in recent years. I've learned how to tweak all of the elements of the page, spacing, etc. I've gotten right up to the point of creating modern scores in LilyPond. I know this is late in the thread, but I wanted to make a comment about LilyPond. Scoresharp.png (206.73 KiB) Viewed 3861 times Incidentally, though SCORE is all vectors, it doesn't do curves - all the curves are drawn as series of short straight lines! (which is why creating and editing symbols was such a pain) Having written quite a few tools for manipulating SCORE files, and therefore being pretty familiar with a lot of the internal workings, I did make a start on a sort of desktop clone of it which at least got as far as opening up files and being able to display them in a window (at least partly - to implement the translation of all the parameter types and values into graphics would be a huge job, but I made a start on the basics), but that was rather too much work to keep up purely as a hobby, so I abandoned it. Having spent nearly 15+ years sitting in SCORE working all day it became second nature in the end and it was hard to imagine working any other way. This makes me feel sad as the real problems with it are the legacy hardware limits (vector limits per page, low screen resolution and that sort of thing) the way it works is fundamentally fine, for those who have the patience for it and who want to work that way. Still cheaper than Sibelius 7 which was £795 in those days as I recall. I bought my copy back in 2002 for £600 or something like that. I created it for covering that problem (mixing LaTeX and lilypond) and for reusing songs.(I'm the one doing the SCORE'ing in the video) You can check out my package in alpha version github. ![]() In a text editor, I copy and pasted the code \documentclass I am on Windows 10, and I have Lilypond 2.18.2 installed.
